Cape John, Nova Scotia - Breakwater Betterment SCOPE OF WORK Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Small Craft Harbours (SCH), requires the services of a qualified contractor to undertake breakwater improvement works at Cape John Harbour, Pictou County, Nova Scotia. The project involves the supply of all labour, equipment, materials, supervision, transportation, and incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the plans and specifications. The work generally includes, but is not limited to: • Mobilization and demobilization of personnel, equipment, and materials to and from the site; • Sitework, demolition, and removal activities associated with the existing breakwater; • Removal, sorting, stockpiling, salvage, and reinstallation of existing armourstone and filter stone suitable for reuse; • Supply, hauling, placement, and grading of new armourstone (4–6 tonne class) to the lines and grades indicated in the contract documents; • Construction activities required to restore and improve the existing breakwater structure; • Implementation of all required environmental protection, erosion and sediment control, navigational safety, and health and safety measures; • Final site restoration, cleanup, and disposal of surplus materials The work will occur within an active fishing harbour and must be coordinated to minimize disruption to harbour operations. FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that Bidders visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense and schedule, to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site (including ferry services), severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Take all appropriate safety measures for any site visit, either before or after acceptance of the bid. CONTRACT PERIOD The period of the contract is from contract award until January 29, 2027.

The first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders. The second phase, (Phase Two), will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of a contract in Phase Two, the pre-qualification list resulting from the first phase will expire and will not be used in any other solicitation. Work Description: Purpose: Complete an addition to the Curran Cabin and extend the existing deck to wrap around the new addition. The Curran Cabin is located within the Long Point National Wildlife Area, which is federal land subject to federal regulation. The scope of work includes framing, roofing, siding, window and door installation, interior finishing (including drywall installation and painting), electrical installation, and deck construction in a remote, boat-access-only location. Objective: Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) requires the completion of an addition to the Curran Cabin within the Long Point National Wildlife Area, along with the construction of a deck around the addition that will connect to the existing deck structure. All on-site construction activities must be carried out between September 1, 2026, and November 15, 2026. At ECCC’s sole discretion, the contract may include an option for the re-siding of the entire Curran Cabin, including both the existing structure and the newly constructed addition, in accordance with the attached drawings and specifications. Regular project progress meetings will be required with ECCC (the owner), an ECCC-retained third-party consultant (engineering firm), and the successful contractor. The frequency and scheduling of these meetings will be confirmed at the project start-up meeting. Site Visit: There may be a site visit during the second phase of the tender. Estimated Value: To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost approximately between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00 (taxes excluded). Work of this contract consists of the refurbishment of Air Handler 1 and 2 and replacement of Air handler 3 at the Bow Unit at the regional Psychiatric Centre in saskatoon, SK. This project also includes the replacement of the existing DX cooling system for Air handlers 1 and 2 with a hydronic Air-to-Water heat pump system and includes the replacement zone duct heating coils with 2-pipe hydronic coils. Perform all works in accordance with CSC Saskatchewan Penitentiary Technical criteria requirements and Institutional requirements for contractors.

Contract award notice of the successful bidder of Stage Two will be posted on canadabuys.canada.ca Description of Project Under this project, the existing stairs are to be removed, disposed of and replaced with a new stairway of reduced width that complies with all applicable Federal, Provincial, local guidelines and codes. The contractor must supply all labour, materials, equipment and associated work required for the demolition of the existing exterior stair system and subsequent construction of the new exterior stair system, railings, landscaping, and associated site features. The work shall include construction of new reinforced concrete stairs, landings, guardrails, handrails, granular base preparation, drainage provisions, and restoration of all disturbed surfaces and landscaping.
