REQUIREMENT Skmaqn—Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst National Historic Site is located within PEI National Park. The existing low-slope roof on the Visitors Center has reached the end of its service life and requires an insulation upgrade. The primary objective of this project is to install a high-performance, multi-ply Modified Bitumen roofing system on top of the existing. The new assembly must have an additional thermal continuous insulation value of R-34, enhance drainage, and ensure absolute protection of the building’s historic, cultural, and architectural integrity throughout construction.
